There is an industrial landscape in the background and the words "Contribuye Al Progreso de Chile" (Contributing to the progress of Chile) around the rim and the initials "CAP" , the Company's acronym at the bottom. There is a mark comprising an "S" with a small "o" above it. The reverse depicts an industrial scene which is presumably CAP's plant in Huachipato with the words "Compania de Acero del Pacifico" (the Pacific Steel Company) around the edge and the words "Huachipato 25 November 1950" at the foot.
